Objectives:
The course aims to provide context for the work that many commercial solicitors undertake. A solicitor could probably represent a client better if they understood the commercial context of the legal instruction. The course explores how the CFO of a company assesses and values investment opportunities, raises necessary finance, runs the businesses well and makes best use of profits generated.

Outcomes:
Participants will be able to: –

  • Explain the financial goals of a business
  • Appreciate how businesses can be valued
  • Understand the different ways in which transactions can be financed
  • Be able to engage with CFOs on the running of successful businesses
